The possible truth has to be an invention, I mean, scripture, literature, picture, sculpture, agriculture, psycheculture, all the tures of this world. The values: tures, The holiness: a ture, the society: a ture, love: pure ture, the beauty: ture of tures.
In a book someone talked about a Neapolitan guy who spent years sitting at his house’s door looking at a screw on the floor. In the evenings he always took it and kept it under his mattress. At the beginning the screw was funny, teased, common irritation, neighborhood board, sign of violation of the civics duties, finally shrug, peace, the screw was the peace, nobody could pass that street without sneaking the screw and feel it was the peace. The Neapolitan guy died of syncope, and the screw disappeared as soon the neighbors showed up. One of them keeps it, maybe he/she secretly takes it out and looks at it, keeps it back and goes to work feeling something he doesn't understand, a dark disapproval. She/He only calms down when she/he takes out the screw and looks at it. She/he looks at it until he/she hears footsteps and put it away quickly. He/she thought that the screw should be something else, a god or something like that. Too easy solution. Maybe the mistake was to accept that this object was a screw because it was shaped like a screw. Maybe the Neapolitan guy was an idiot but he could also be the inventor of a world: from screw to an eye, from an eye to a star...
Why we surrender to the Great Habit If we can always choose a Tura, an invention; that is to say the screw? That’s how the cities destroy us slowly, deliciously, crushing us between old flowers and paper’s tablecloths with wine’s stains, with its colorless fire coming out of eaten portals when the nightfall arrives. We’re burned by an invented fire, an incandescent Ture, a race device, the city is the Great Screw, an agony in a cage crowded with enraged swallows.
We burn in our own play, fabulous mortal honor, the phoenix’ high challenge. Nobody will cure us of the deaf colorless fire that runs in the nightfall through the houses and streets, fire without image that blow the stones and blows tenderly allied to time and compulsively calcine us. Incurable, perfectly incurable, we choose the Great Screw as a Ture; we bow in front of it, we enter it, we reinvent it every day, in every stain of wine on the tablecloth, in every kiss we invent our fire, we burn from the inside out
... maybe that’s our choice, invention ... once and for all and in peace and enough.
